Chris McKenzie PGA of Canada, Head Golf Professional
Being born and raised on Cape Breton Island, one of Canada’s premier golf destinations, it seems golf is in my blood. I am Chris McKenzie, and I would like to welcome you to the Miskanaw Golf Club.
I completed the Professional Golf Management Program at Holland College on Prince Edward Island, and during that time had the honor of participating in the PGA tour Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass as a volunteer. During school I worked at the renowned Bell Bay on Cape Breton Island where in 2005 we hosted the RCGA Canadian Men’s Amateur. Upon graduation I accepted a job at the Royal Mayfair Golf & Country Club, in Edmonton Alberta where I spent 3 years and had the pleasure of hosting the CN Canadian Women’s open. While in Edmonton I passed the CPGA playability test, and came to Fort McMurray four years ago, 2 years ago I began my new role at the Miskanaw Golf Club.
Sharing my love and passion for golf with golfers of all ages is a genuine pleasure, and I want you to know that I am always happy to hear any of your comments, concerns, or questions. I am proud to be at the Miskanaw Golf Club as we strive to develop a golf experience that exceeds your expectations, and I am delighted to be part of a team that shares this goal.
Our Golf Maintenance team is proud to introduce Superintendent Jessica Vassilicopolous. Jessica came to the Island first, as a member of our Guest Services team. Jessica spent two years learning all the ins and outs of the Island with Guest Services then moved into a position with Golf Maintenance in 2011. Jessica clearly found the passion in her life with working with Turf and has done an exemplary job for Miskanaw these past years. Over the past seasons, she has grown in leaps and bounds and now is the Head Superintendent of the Miskanaw Golf Club. We feel incredibly fortunate to have Jessica leading our Turf Team and look forward to many more years of spectacular course conditions!
